229 great for hair styles and facials too! 08/25/2010
I found Studio 229 while googling for hair salons on Capitol Hill. I was really surprised to find one with such great prices for hair color and hair cuts. The owner Deanna cut my hair and she did a wonderful job. She also does complimentary maintenance trims in between hair cuts, so my hair is always looking sharp.
I’ve been back several times to get my hair colored, highlighted, and cut. They never over bleach my hair or misunderstand my requests for hair colors. My hair color is changing all of the time so this is important to me. It’s a bonus that the stylist are so nice as well as talented! I’ve always been treated good and never had a bad experience at 229.
I spent time in their spa as well and the facials there are really great. My skin after the ayurvedic facial was soft for days! It’s not often you find a place that does both in the same location.

I am new to the area and was looking for a great cut and colorist. Studio 229 is a very cute boutique salon and I felt very comfortable there. Natalie did a great job on my cut and color. I go red and it is a tough shade to match but she did awesome! I look forward to going again and maybe even treating myself to a facial

Located off of Broadway on Capitol Hill, Studio 229 is one if the best spas I’ve ever been to. The studio itself is very modern, upbeat, and lively ( I LOVE the artwork and flowers…and the reading material, haha).
Everytime I go in, I’m welcomed warmingly by the owner Deanna as well as all the other staff. The service is always to my satisfaction and I appreciate that the employees there are extremely attentive and not satisfied until I’m satisfied.
I would also like to mention that while the hair stylists are exceptional, the estheticians are remarkable,and the new member of the Studio 229 team Kurt Dickson is absolutely amazing. He made waxing the goods (Brazilian) simple, quick, and painless. He is a wonderful addition and I would recommend him to ANYONE who needs assistance with anything regarding the skin.
All in all Studio 229 is the real deal for Capitol Hill! Take a chance on it, you will not be disappointed!!
