The Art of Transformation
Studio 229’s featured artist for the May Capitol Hill Arts Walk is Don Farrell. Farrell’s oil paintings are intricate, graceful, mysterious and powerful. They often play with depth and perspective, and their subject matter includes nature, mythic and exotic scenes and visions. In his artist’s statement, Farrell writes that he is “humbled and intrigued by things that cannot be seen nor explained. Above all, I am inspired by the mystery of Transformation – from the mundane to deeper, hidden layers of reality.”
At Studio 229, we also practice the “art” of transformation. It always inspires us to see how a simple but expert cut or color can not only change a client’s look, but also give them a whole new energy and confidence.
The next time you come in for an appointment, be sure to take a look at Farrell’s latest exhibit, “Every Man & Woman is a Star,’” which will be shown at Studio 229 through May.
Best wishes from the staff at Studio 229.
