Short says I am a confident women. I was inspired by the Golden Globes this weekend, watching all of the stars with their beautifully short hair. The look so elegant and feminine, youthful and fun! I hear a lot of women say that they could never have short hair because of this or that or face shape or feature. The truth is you just have to find the right haircut to bring out and frame your best features. I think every woman should try a short cut at least once in her life. It is empowering and can have the strength to advertise your confidence in a very comfortable and elegant way. Winter time is an introspective time and we can spend time on our look because it won’t melt in the sun and we are under so many layers, it is easy to let function take over fashion. Here are a few examples of different face shapes with short hair. And remember that short hair can and does not have to mean all gone!
Bringing in a photograph of a style you like on a similar face shape to yours is a great way to open the dialog with your stylist about what look might work best on you.
As a stylist who loves cutting feminine short hair cuts, I want to remind you that you should feel comfortable and trust your stylist. Consultations are vary important in insuring that you feel confident in your new do. Also complimentary maintenance hair cuts keep you short look feeling fresh.
Please come and see us at Studio 229 on Capitol Hill in Seattle for an awesome short hair cut!
There are some of the hottest looks ( update look )in for the summer and we at Studio 229 Hair Design and Spa are so excited to bring our clients the trendiest fashion looks in hair cuts and hair colors for the season that we are gleaming with joy. The biggest new trend that we have noticed is the influx of disconnection with the addition of added texture. You don’t have to cut your hair short to experience disconnection in your hair cut. As a matter of fact, keeping length and adding a little disconnect will help to update your look and create an artistic balance if done right.
Notice how this gentleman’s hair color is subtle yet is also complimentary of his slightly disconected hair cut. It is also nice to see that this image is something that can be worn by a young hipster or a professional.
Other trends that are hitting the city streets this Summer season are heavier blunt bangs. Not necessarily straight across bangs. It is all about creativity and expressing who you are with hair cut and your fashion. There are several heavy, a-symmetrical bangs that we are creating here at Studio 229 Hair Design and Spa which are fashion forward.
Obviously, these bangs are not for everybody. The point is that the heavier bang is hot for the Summer and does not have to be straight across. If you have fine or thin hair a heavy bang makes your hair look a little thicker. The other great thing about bangs is that, if you are like most of the women whose hair that I cut, you will like that bangs make your hair look longer. The contrast between the long hair and the bangs allow for that. Also, Studio 229 offers free Bang Trims in between hair cuts to keep you looking your best.
I love this image because it shows both disconnection and a heavy bang.
Studio 229 attended the Label M hair show in which the design team from the UK spoke of “wiggy” being the new fashion trend. What is meant by wiggy is the look of a wig. This image is a good representation of todays hot Summer wiggy disconnected trendy styles. How is that for a mouth full? The color is dimensional which is representational of yesterday’s blog. Even her cloths match her hair. What a great image! If you are thinking about updating your hair cut come in and see us. We would love to help design something fitting to your face shape and your sense or style. Visit us on the web at studio229.net we look forward to hearing from you.
Men’s haircuts can be fashionable and trendy. Who says there’s nothing you can do for men with shorter hair? Try something different from a number 2 clipper hair cut on the side and finger length hair cut on top. There are plenty of choices to keep your hair professional enough for work and cool enough to work with at night. Let your hair grow a little longer. One key ingredient to keeping your from looking unkept with the extra length is the addition of product into your daily routine.
Depending on your hair texture we will be able to recommend waxes, pastes, pomade, or maybe a little gel. It’s not scary as long as the hair product is not over used and will make your haircut great!:
If you still want to keep it more traditional it’s still very important to have a haircut tailored to your face shape and lifestyle. This is a very retro yet stylish hair cut:Here
Here at Studio 229 Hair Design we offer maintenance haircuts in between your next visit which are 15 minute dry hair cuts that keep the hair cut looking fresh. They are free of charge and provide the opportunity for your hair cut to always look as if it is perfect.
New low maintenance hair color techniques
Love it or hate it ombre hair color has been all the rage for the past few months. “Ombre” refers to a fabric dye dipping process where the fabric is dipped in dye, resulting in a graduated color effect. Usually from dark ranging to light or vice-versa. This effect can be done in hair color resulting in a natural, low maintenance and chic look.
Here is an example:
Another way to translate this look into a fresh, wearable look for the season is by using peek-a-boos. Peek-a-boos are a great way to add pops of hair color in a low maintenance way. The hair color is usually placed underneath, making the grow-out unnoticeable.
Some more examples we love:
Coppers are always great for spring!
This is so soft and pretty!
Blonde peek-a-boos are always a great go to update brunettes. This is such an easy way to add blonde without worrying about having to get touched up regularly.
We also love these techniques of hair coloring done with bangs:
The above looks are soft and pretty, chic and hip. Below we can see ways to add pops of color with peek-a-boos underneath on the bang or fringe. This is an noncommittal way to change your look and spice up your hair color in a fresh and modern way.
Whether you choose natural or pop colors peek aboos are where it’s at and won’t break the bank doing so! Come see us at Studio 229 hair design and spa to get updated for the season!
Spring Hair Color and Haircuts are perfect to refresh yourself. We at Studio 229 Hair Design and Spa want to show you some great hair colors that compliment the hair cuts that are hot for the season. Not just a hair cut or just a hair color but images that go together. What is in for the season is fun and flirty. Bright and bold. The same trends that are in for fashion can be equally matched for your locks of hair. Here are some great examples:
This hair color is much more subtle and the hair cut is classic. See how the two work so well together? It is just beautiful. The update is in the corners in the front. It adds drama while still keeping the hair cut classic.
These straight across bangs have been in for a while now but with this warm almost orange hair color they are so, so hot for Spring. The multi-dimensional color ads color to her skin tone making her look like she has porcelain skin.
Lastly, this image shows how a textured hair cut can bring out a dimensional hair color and make a flirty, sassy and straight across bang look so cool. Even with the warm, bold colors. Whether you are going for a subtle hair color or something bold, tying together the hair cut and the hair color should be done for best effect.
